Description: Internship opportunity to work with a global not-for-profit organisation that works in improving oxygen provision to save lives and reduce health inequality. Assist our passionate communications team to build branding material for comms strategies, advocacy and awareness. FREO2 will provide you with the opportunity to work within interdisciplinary teams and introduce you to a vast network within the not-for-profit sector. 

 

Background and Mission: Founded in 2016, FREO2 is an Australian headquartered, global not-for-profit organisation, headquartered at the University of Melbourne. We believe every child has the right to breathe, live and thrive. Our mission is to enable access to oxygen to save lives and reduce inequalities in health. FREO2 technologies are currently being used to tackle childhood pneumonia in low resource health facilities in Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya and Nigeria. Pneumonia remains the leading cause of death for children under five, claiming the lives of over 800,000 children each year.

 

Job Responsibilities: You will be working closely and under the supervision of FREO2’s Marketing Specialist

  • Design clear engaging graphic communications for print and web this will include creating iconography, graphics and animations. 

  • Working closely with the communications team to translate messaging concepts into marketing materials. 

  • Working closely with the FREO2 engineering team to develop branding material for FREO2 products and services.

  • Assisting the communications team in social media, advocacy and awareness campaigns. 

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Graduate or currently in pursuit of associate’s, bachelor’s, or graduate degree in Design/ Graphic Design or similar. 

  • Must be proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, & Photoshop and/or other common design applications 

  • Able to craft and execute a vision in keeping with existing branding

  • Desire to serve in a nonprofit working environment 

Time Requirements: 1 day a week (Tuesdays) for 6-8 weeks. Work hours can be structured around university schedules and related deadlines. All work is performed during standard business hours.
